These books are excellent! Great plots and romance! I had to buy them all! I've reread them already and will be doing it again.
This is the story that tells about family, love and relationships of a ranching town in Montana. I really love the way the author has different members of the family and town in her story. If you read this book and enjoy it as much as I have, you will want to read all 7 of her books about the family and town. Along the way you will learn thing about ranching you may not have known about. With each additional book she bring you up to date on the couples you have read about before. Very enjoyable.
The friendship that Nick had for Beth was really deep and that being they were always in each other's company. Most friendships build and I felt that was the reason that Nick felt so committed to Beth. It might have started as a sisterly/brother feeling, but it was covering a something deeper. Out of the traumatic rape God brought a love that conquered Beth's fear. I really enjoyed the outcome of this story. I look forward to reading more of your work.
I was really thoroughly enjoying this series....and then I got to this book. I read it, but it was hard. What I wasn't expecting was to read a detailed account of a woman being raped. By the description of the book I knew something happens to Beth, but I didn't see the rape coming until there it was. They play it out over and over, which is to be expected, but it is brutal to read. This book brought up a lot of hard feelings to deal with. If you have ever been raped, I don't know if this book is for you. It may bring your own experience back into memory in technicolor. I have a hard time calling this book a romance. To me it was a drama novel. Yes, they clearly loved each other, but it was a background story to the rape and nothing but the rape. I had a hard time liking the hero, as I felt he betrayed Beth by not going to the police immediately. "Love" doesn't stop you from reporting a heinous crime like that. Love would say, I'm getting this creep off the street so he doesn't rape another woman, even if Beth decides she doesn't want to be my friend anymore. Love looks at the big picture, not just one person's life. Honestly, I hated this book. I despised the hero, I hated the bully rapist and his enabling buddies, I felt bad for the heroine and her situation even if I didn't agree with her actions, I liked the hero's ex who was more adult than any of the rest of them. I read this as fast as I could just to get it over with. I haven't continued the series yet because I hated this book that much. I really like Ms. O'Connell's writing but this one was a bit much for me. Read at your own risk.
I didn't think I would like a book that centered on a rape story. It was free, so I started it and couldn't put it down. The author grabs your emotions and doesn't let go until the very end. I enjoyed watching the characters grow and mature through the story.
This story had everything in it. I love it in Northstar with the Hammond brothers & their amazing family. This was a page turner in every way! I noticed I read book 2 earlier, then just finished book 1 now. Can't wait for more on this family. So happy how Beth & Nick turned out. Keep up the great writing Suzie!
This book is awesome! I felt like I was right there among the characters. The author brings the story to life. I have read her other books and I think is she is a wonderful writer. All of her books are intertwined, yet unique to each story. I highly recommend this book or any other she has written! Out all the books, I think this one is the best yet!!!
